Anyone else getting pumped for the show(s) up at the "Kee" next week? Its been 'Hip-Only' on the iPod for the past few days, and I don't see that changing until after the concert.
I've got a room at the Bala Bay Inn (ripoff), we might have a bonfire on the nearby public beach after the show or something if anyone is around. If anyone is up for some pre-show liver excersises we're game for that as well.
More importantly though, I've already got 4 tickets to Thursday's show, but have another person that wants to come along. If anyone has an extra ticket or a friend that bails last minute, lemme know!
sorry man, i would be looking for an extra ticket too!
I'll be at the Wednesday show and have a cottage rented from Sunday to Saturday. Really look forward to a week's vacation and seeing the Hip again. Tried to get in on the Thursday show too, but it sold out too quick.
They just had a Rob Baker interview on WHTZ 97.7 FM and during the interview Rob mentioned that the Bala show was sort of a fanclub show and he enjoys those because they get to pull out some different songs because of the knowledge of the fans.

Now that's GREAT to hear!
Thanks Dana!
Going to both shows and staying at the scam-of-the-year hotel Bala Bay Inn.
Always up for pre and post concert functions. There will be three of us coming from Ottawa for the show and ready to throw down a few pints.
Does anyone know of a reasonably priced golf course in the area?
I'M really hoping they play On The Verge - preferable the extended version they closed out shows with in the old days.
Hey there giller10.
I too got scammed into the Bala Bay Inn but it'll be a fun couple of days.
The closest golf course is Beaver Run. It's a 9 hole course about 5 minutes from the Bala Bay Inn and the Kee. It's around $30 - $40 I think for 18 holes there.
I'm planning on playing there with a few other fellow hipbasers, then doing dinner before the show!!
I wonder what gems we'll hear!
I am getting super excited
I fly from Victoria to Toronto tommorrow then up to Muskoka for a week. Can't wait to see what they break out and how crowded the venue will be.
Looking forward to meet a couple Hipbasers for sure. I'll be the one in the hip jersey - easy to find I am sure

Thanks thehip11
Maybe we can all head out to the course together - I'm planning on going Thursday. Anyway, I guess we'll be seeing a lot of bases at the Inn.
Cheers - just a few more days to go.

That's awesome! I can't wait!
I'm going to both shows and also staying with everyone else it seems at the Bala Bay Inn. None of my friends were interested in going this time around, so I'll be going solo. Hopefully I'll meet some fellow hipbase folks at the show.
Also going to both Lewiston shows! Its gonna be a great few days!

there's lots of pictures to give you an idea what it looks like for those that have never been there before
It's an old style roadhouse, dance hall, that is very small. NO ONE will be disappointed. You guys should have stayed at Cranberry Village not the Bala Bay but at least you can walk back.
See ya at Art Park on Sunday and the Kee on Wednesday
Ian
Does anybody know if there are BBQ facilities at the Bala Bay Inn? If I were to bring my own portable one, is there a nearby place that we could fire it up and cook some meat and drink some beers before the show? How intense are the local O.P.P. up there?
Might be nice to get some friendly Hip fans together to hang out for a bit before the big show - especially for those who are going solo.
what time do they hit the stage ? 9 ?
