Have you ever went into a record shop, second-hand store, or online website, only to find a great piece of Tragically Hip Memorabilia at an outstanding price?
Post a description of the piece of memorabilia that you purchased
the bargain purchase price
and the place that you purchased it from
i got the FC vinyl on ebay for $14 from someone in germany
recently purchased Coke Machine Glow- Jewel Case for $1USD at a discount music store. It was not really memorabilia but I already had CMG but in different packaging. Also at the same time picked up "Nickles for your Nightmares" Headstones, "Blue Green Orange" - I My Mother Earth, and a fairly recent Big Sugar for all at $2ea.

Other finds though the years I have picked up radio promos for "gift shop" "Nautical Disaster" for 1-2 ea. Another "Nautical Disaster" promo with 3 live cuts. The live NOIS version on this promo was I believe was the killer whale tank version and at the time for me (before napster) was a real find. This gem was $6.00 USD

Also have picked up TTH with extra track which I already had the US version minus "All Canadian Surf Club for $5. Finally picked up MAW promo version which has different art on the CD for $4.

I have has other numerous "finds" or "bargains" for other bands as I have been lucky that my jobs have me travel and I get to goto other regions/countries where a particular band may not be popular yet.
Here's my bargain that I just found today. It was in a small thrift shop in my local town. I was sifting through the clothing racks, not finding anything of interest. I pulled back the next shirt in the row, and saw some Canadian tour dates. I was expecting to see Garth Brooks' massive face on the front, but to my surprise, it was not him... It was a:
TTH: Live In The Flesh Tour Shirt (2002). I noticed it was also autographed by the band. I gladly went to the counter and paid $1.50, and was unable to wipe the smirk on my face...
Back in May '94 I stumbled upon the Locked in the Trunk of a Car single (with the pull-out tab and the live versions of FC and Locked) while strolling through Zia Records in Phoenix, AZ. I remember it was sitting on a shelf above the "T" section where they usually display the newly released CD's. Finding any Hip CD at a record store in AZ (outside of Tucson) was a shock in '94, let alone finding a CD Single with that kind of packaging with live songs to boot. I think I paid less than $10 dollars.

I might be in the minority, but the live version of Locked on that CD might still be my favorite live version of that song, even if its extra fast. :thumb:
Call me nuts but I think $400 for this was kinda sorta a steal...

My girlfriend at the time got me a huge 8' X 10' promotional poster for WC for free from the West Edmonton Mall HMV. It's pretty sweet.
She also got me a 5' X 5' poster for the release of Yer Favourites before that. Decorates the room pretty good.
I got the Day for Night promo poster from a record store when they were changing the posters. I said to the guy hey can I have that one and he said yea and pulled it down rolled it up and gve it to me. hehe its in my basment on teh wall. Cool poster with band member faces and then the album cover in the middle of it.
grabbed a couple of the W.C pole posters Oct 23-06 at the Phoenix in toronto.Have 2 if somebody local wants one!
I purchased the Hip's 'Baby Blue Debut' CD at a trade-in record shop for $1.99. A toonie for a Hip CD = well worth it...

i have the same poster framed!!
I'm looking for some Hip gig posters. I'm building a new houe and want a really nice one for my office. All I can find are the usual suspects, which just aren't cutting it for me.

Does anyone know where I can find some really good hip concert posters? Something original and rare. My patience for ebay is wearing thin.
I'd say get a poster from the Filmore in San Franciso. I know there is a link to a site that has most of the posters on it, but I can't rememember it right now.... (but I assume another 'baser does.)

I have the Moose one in a frame, it looks snazzy on the wall!
I like the moose a lot. The only problem is it's $100!!!
The Moose one seems to be rare and expensive whenever it does come up for sale. I just bought a bunch from eBay for when I have a rec room or a nice place to put a grouping of them all up, I can picture the room now and it looks awesome!

I got the 2004 Polar Bear poster, 2002 Hippos one, the recent buffalo show poster, with the hockey arcade game, and the fish poster from this years Fillmore
