just gettin right now, can't wait to hear it...always loved this guy...last album was shit though...well, it had a couple moments but ya, it was no where near any of his previous efforts...
i like it...it's different for sure...i've had somebody comment that it's very "depeche mode"...

you make the call...

also, i will add, i think i like the remix of it better...(the download is the song and the remix)
he's coming to the molson amphitheatre with slayer in august. i want to go but can't find someone to see this deranged man with.
i'll go! for real dude! i've wanted to see both for soooooo long!!!!!!
pm me man!
The album as a whole is way better than his last one, but that doesn't mean it's good. There's a strong classic rock sound to a lot of the tracks, and most of them have extended guitar solos - a lot less synth than usual. Lyrics are more or less thrown together (he admitted as much in an interview), and about as cliched as you'd expect from him at this point. I certainly won't buy it, but it's worth a download if you liked his past efforts.
*cough* no talent hack *cough*
that's B.S.

Mechanical Animals is a modern rock masterpiece...
so anyway, i finally got around to hearing the rest of this album now...and i really like it...it's not his best work really....BUT...it might be my favourite...mellowe...but more classic rock influence...some nice guitar solos...it's got a really solid vibe to it that doesn't let up all album...depressing? a lil bit...yes, rockin? yes...different...for him, yes, nothing groundbreaking, but it's a departure for him for sure...maybe a little coming of age too seeing as he doesn't scream much on the record at all really...

think i'm gonna have to go to the show in Toronto for sure now...
