Match-up #55 - Wheat Kings Vs. New Orleans Is Sinking
I ask you to listen to the two songs in the match-up Back to Back, and consider the lyrics of the song. Feel free to post an unbiased analysis of both songs in this thread, but please refrain from cheerleading or making predictions for your favourites.
toughest match for me yet. i absolutely love both songs. i listened to both songs three times each and couldn't make a decision.
After listening to them 1 last time I decided to go for wheat kings, the lyrics just seem to speak to me more than NOIS.
David Milgaard (sp?) seals the deal for me....

same, and i beleive you spelt it correctly.
As much as I love Wheat Kings, I think NOIS basically defines the Hip.
i can't believe it is this close i thought wheat kings would have blown NOIS out of the water
Wheat for me.... but I'm super interested to see how this one turns out!
I love both songs and would not blame anyone for picking Wheat Kings...I just hope that people don't do it for the "just because" factor of NOIS being the Hips breakthrough and most timeless song. I know this is a forum of the most hardcore fans out there, but everyone started like them somewhere, and my guess is this song had a lot to do with it.
This was actually painful, two of my absoulte favourite tracks, not just by the Hip, but anyone...
I had to go with what brought me though, so it had to be NOIS
how is wheat kings losing!?!?!?! i figured it was going to be a sure win for WK..... i'm a little shocked.
Im very disapointed at this...
You and I both. Wheat Kings is a staple campfire song, a great story, and well... you know.
