By reviewing an Avril Lavigne album?
chris Wrote:By reviewing an Avril Lavigne album?

no..by giving it such a great review
"these are terrific, addictive pop songs"
"exciting as any other bubblegum pop"

Yeah, the quotes above tell the entire story. Confusedhock: Confusedhock: There is no such thing as exciting bubblegum pop BTW. Big Grin Big Grin

Thanks opiated for pointing out this review. I would have never read it on my own and that would have been fine by me. Your comments riled up my curiousity and I had to have a look. Thanks a lot. Tongue Tongue

Well, there is if you happen to like bubblegum pop. And people who happen to like things like that will probably eat it up.

Sorry, but there's nothing wrong with reviewing the album on its own terms. They haven't proclaimed that it's great art; they've declared it to be the best junk going. Which is fair enough.

Good point. However, I still stand firm that bubblebum pop shouldn't even be considered art at all.

Yeah, they could have a rating system where the most that a bubblegum pop album should get is 3 stars.
it is tops for me in 2007
They gave Paris Hilton four and a half stars, if memory serves.

It only matters when compared to other bullshit. i.e., this is four star bullshit! As bullshit goes, it's mighty fine: strong, aromatic and sticky. Step in this, and your boots will never seem clean no matter how you scrub them.
