I'm in the same boat. I like the song, more live than on the album, but I certainly don't hold it in the high regard as so many here.

Nautical D all the way. Fiddler's Green is a great, sublime, miraculous tune ... and this one's not even close -- that's how good Nautical is.

I'm clearly in the minority but for lyrics alone I honestly think Fiddler's Green is the most poignant song in the Hip's catalogue.
I'm calling it now...Grace v. Nautical in the final...Unless it's a semi-final matchup...But one of those two will emerge victorious in this cool little competition..

I guess it's because I have never "gotten" Nautical. It's pretty good live, but have you guys seen Fiddler's live??? (probably not haha. I'm one of the lucky few)

As for this match-up, there's no doubt that Fiddler's is one of their more powerful songs, and the fact that we went so many years without hearing it live certainly added to it's aura. Nonetheless, if you look up the definition of 'musical perfection' in the dictionary, you'll find two words: Nautical Disaster.
