Used to have this on video, and just bought it today on DVD...WOW!!! Jethro Tull, The Who, Taj Majahl, Lennon, Clapton, and the last performance with Brian Jones as a member of the Stones...mix that in with some weird intervals, circus performances and some all around crazy shit!

Highlights...
The Who's "Quick one while he's away"
"Yer Blues", lennon with Clapton Keith, and Mitch Mitchell, who are later joined by a classical violinist, and a screaming Yoko!!

Seeing how incredibly high everybody is!!!!
The Who owned the day :thumb:
I have that on VHS, haven't watched it in awhile, though. Lennon doing "Yer Blues" with Yoko in the bag is a real hoot (I'm pretty sure she's in the bag during that tune--or am I remembering it wrong. As I said, it's been awhile since I've watched it). The Who definitely do rule the day with "A Quick One." Brian Jones looks completely wasted--just a total wreck (very sad). Tull do a great version of "Song for Jeffrey" and Taj Mahal is really smokin', too. I picked up Taj's first two albums (the self-titled one and "The Natch'l Blues" based on that performance alone. I highly recommend those albums if you don't already have them. Sony remastered them back in 2001 and they sound great). The Stones' performances are okay, but not particularly memorable compared to some of the guest performers. It is one of the few places, however, where you can see them do live versions of "Salt of the Earth" and "Parachute Woman." Overall, a great period piece from the late sixties.

Say, does the DVD have any good extras on it? If so, I should probably snag it.
the DVD has some great performances by Taj, I think 4 extra tunes...a great interview with Pete Townshend, about half an hour...great insight to the behind the scenes..some great audio commentary by Mick, Marianne, Taj, Ian Anderson from Tull, and the remastering is brilliant...the Stones performance is better than i'd remembered actually...especially Mick..and Pete talks about how "into" the entire thing Mick was, and if you really study his performance you'll notice how wonderful it actually is
Thanks for the DVD info, Opiated. I love the Stones--they are absolutely one of my favorite bands of all time (particularly the "Beggars Banquet" "Let It Bleed" era from about '68-'70). I remember how exited I was when "Rock 'n' Roll Circus" was originally released on VHS (before the days of DVD). I had read about it for quite some time, and it was just as good as advertised. I think I may need to find a copy of the DVD now.
