That is very impressive, half the reason we bought a wii was for the back catalogue releases of a whole bunch of systems from my childhood.

I agree with that wholeheartedly.... we just wish that they'd get to releasing some more decent titles for it... every back catalogue game that comes out is either a) terrible or b)completely unknown aside from the obvious ones like the Zeldas and Marios...
Has anyone tried Super Paper Mario? It's mind blowing!
My brother in law who is staying with us rented super paper mario to check it out and wow!! so much fun, and way too addictive!!!
And yeah most of the console games so far have been the standards but hopefully they will just keep coming and we'll get some more decent games.

Dude! Contra III? Castlevania IV? Bonk? Loads of the Genesis games? There's some good shit on there, if you take a closer look! Unfortunately I'm still backed up with GC games and refuse to buy anything off the VC until I'm caught up there, so I haven't actually purchased any of them yet myself. Good thing I don't care about any forthcoming Wii releases until Super Mario Galaxy, that'll give me some good catch up time.

it's true... there are some gems on there -- and we've got at least the first screen filled with games... I want my Kirby 64!

Oh, I've played Twilight Princess, just saying I won't get any Virtual Console games until I'm caught up with the GC backlog. That's not even mentioning the Wii and DS stuff! Boy I'm a nerd.
Super Metroid will be HUGE on the VC. It'll be nice to get some Square stuff on there as well.
