Pete Townsend was being interviewed on Directv's SXSW coverage Friday and was asked if he's heard any good new bands lately. He said he's been too busy to go see any but:

"I know they're not new, but...on the Who's support...the band that really stood out to me were The Tragically Hip. I know they're not new, but they were great."

Not too shabby.

Pete has good taste.

maybe he can buy a few hundred thousands records and get them on the billboard charts in the states...
