The Smashing Pumpkins, Bjork, The Killers and 30 other artists have been added to Toronto's Virgin Fest lineup.
The event, to be held on Toronto Island Sept. 8th and 9th, will also see performances by headliners Interpol, Paolo Nutini, Amy Winehouse, Tokyo Police Club and Jamie T.
The announcement arrives in the wake of Virgin Chairman Sir Richard Branson's stunt at Yonge and Dundas Square where he broke free from a suspended cage and rappelled down a rope.
The festival, which began 12 years ago in the U.K., holds a variety of attractions as well as live musical performances.
The only other Canadian stop for the festival is Vancouver's Thunderbird stadium May 20 and 21. Already lined up for that show are My Chemical Romance, Billy Talent, Muse, The Killers, AFI and Hot Hot Heat.
Disgusting lineup in Vancouver.

I may go for the sake of seeing Bjork and the Pumpkins. Other than that, no other bands interest me but i've always wanted to see Bjork.
when does this go on sale?

any advice on this...it's G/A standing room i'd imagine right? will it sell out really fast?
basically what i'm asking, is in anyone's opinion, do i need to fuck with presale or not?
Pumpkins new album comes out 07-07-07, kind of strange since it is a Saturday and most albums come out on Tuesdays

cratch:
Anyway, hopefully they tour.
fuckineh...new album is coming A LOT sooner than i thought...
I may be having second thoughts about this, actually. I mean, it'd be great to see the Pumpkins again, but I'm not sure how I feel about seeing them at a festival; I'd much rather see them on their own, so I don't have to sit through a bunch of musical dross (heh) before getting to them. Does anyone know if one-day passes are sold for this? If they are I might consider it, but the first day's lineup just does *not* interest me.

its GA. you're on a grass field on an island. you can walk anywhere within the park. crossing by ferry sucks. i bought earlybird tickets for last years thinking it would sell out, but a friend picked up a sunday ticket the day of down at harbourfront from the virgin tent.
