So where do the Hip stand in terms of heartbreak songs? I'd have a tough time putting them up against Blue Rodeo, who have a complete catalogue of broken heart tunes, but I think they have a few.

For me, the best song for heart break is Boots or Hearts. It just puts it all in there.
The best line for me is from Killing Time: "I drank a half a bottle of Jack, swore I'd never take you back, by the bottles end I was on the phone."
"Your smile was fading a bit so I ration it, don't think about it" - From 'If New Orleans Is Beat'. I don't know why, but that song gets me every time!
"We said we'd be friends or die and we've died a thousand times since then" Totally epitomizes the back and forth struggle of the on again off again relationships we've all experienced at one time or another.
