i like the fact that its going to take a long time to complete. what are we on today? match up 15? we have only seen 30 songs so far, not even have way through the first round. i'm sure it'll have an exciting finish and maybe we'll see some ties in the next couple of rounds.... maybe the final will be a three way match!

You could always start the matches in 6 hour increments, but leave them open for 24 hours...
And I guess I just see interest fading in something that will take this long... I'm fading already, and I wouldn't be surprised if others jump ship as well.

Since yesterday's poll Hip 64 popularity(in voting) has gone up 30%... That certainly doesn't sound like fading away to me! :thumb:

Maybe we could speed up the final 16 match-up's for the first round like chris suggested, now we're all familiar with the format and then go back to 24 hour matches again in the later rounds?

Forgive me if this has been explained already but is the bracket order that Ben is making on his wicked awesome chart the order for the NEXT round? For instance, is Pigeon going up against Grace next Round? Courage Versus Fully? Or once you have all the first round winners, they go "in to a hat" sort-of-speak and more randomness happens...
Just trying to get a grasp on how this will move forward...

This is an excellent question that I was planning on answering after the first round was completed... But since you inquired now, I can provide an answer for you.
The brackets don't lie. Those match ups that you see in the round of 16 will be the ones we use. Do not let next rounds match ups influence your voting decisions in the first round, because that would take some fun out of the event...
As a twist, I will however, randomize the order that these future match ups will take place in the next rounds. This is to keep all Hipbasers on their toes, and keep an element of randomness within the competition. Hope that clarifies the picture for you.
