all the best man..thinking of ya
Sorry to hear about that. Get well and stay gold, Ponyboy.
My brother in law has crones and it went mis diagnosed for about 10 years before the right doctor made the right diagnosis, in the beginning it wasn't pretty, he was in school and was taking an IV with him after his surgery where they removed several feet from his small intestine. Over the past 7 years he's been taking some pills, not sure what they are, maybe steroids but if he didn't tell you he had crones you would never know anything was wrong with him, he is perfectly healthy otherwise and lives a very busy/active life. He's back in school now, currently on co-op. Write's review for new cars on the side, is married (obviously) and has a son, and when there is time he goes to every show he can with me.

I'm sure it sucks real bad now in this period of adjustment but once you've been dealing with it for a while you'll get used to it and I'm sure you'll be fine.

Now if it's like crones, you may have to let go of some of your favorite foods Sad

Funny you should mention that about your brother-in-law, my wife's aunt has the same problem as me and she went undiagnosed for about 10yrs as well. She had it bad too, she suffered needlessly for a long time. Im hoping once I get back to feeling normal, Ill have a nice long run of feeling well. As for foods as long as steak, pizza, peanut butter and chocolate milk dont upset me Ill be happy as can be. I just polished off a steak with a big baked potatoe for dinner and Im feeling fine. I have to bump up my iron intake cause my blood levels have dropped alot in the last 2 weeks. I might have to force some liver in me..ughh. I remember growing up my dad cooking liver on the stove with onions all the time, it made me sick to smell it..still does actually.
I could be mistaken, but I think this might be what my uncle has. Whatever it is he has, he was diagnosed very very late in the game and came extremely close to dying.

My father passed away six months ago, and the week spent planning his funeral was literally the first time in my life I had spent any time with this uncle (my dad's brother). I knew he had a serious medical condition but I didn't feel comfortable asking him about it since I barely know the guy. But I am pretty sure this is what he has.

After my dad's funeral was over with and I returned home, I thought I ought to get myself checked out for this sort of thing since it has occurred in my family, but I never got around to it.
I'm really sorry to read that, LizardKing. Sad I hope you can make a full recovery. All the best, mate.
Just in case anyone was wondering where Ive been for the last 7 days or so, cause its not like me to go that long without a post..I just got out of the hospital. My meds didnt do what they hoped and I got more sick and had to be hospitalized. I feel alot better and we have the symptoms under control for now, I just hope it stays that way.

Glad to be back.. :thumb:
Here's hoping for a speedy recovery!

Good luck, LK :thumb:

Thanks Skip, Im trying its been hard, hopefully things will get better. Im still pretty weak right now, my hemo is down to 92, a normal adult male should be over 130. But the symptoms are under control which should help, I had to be on I.V steroids for a week, they did the trick. My only concern now is relapse, still not in the clear yet..

Thanks for all the well wishes though. Big Grin
My uncle became ill when we were in Florida with his family back in '95. First we thought it was his appendix, but it ended up being Crohns. He has it pretty bad, but for the most part he's doing very well. Then about a year & a half ago my cousin had an awful few months. He was constantly in & out of the hospital with severe pains in his stomach, and they just kept sending him home. Finally after at least 6 months the doctors started to take it more seriously & he also was diaogosed with Crohns. His is under control now though and he's doing fine so far.

Sorry to here that Lizard, get better soon man!
Well LK , my thoughts are with you on this. My wifes friends husband was just hospitalized for this as well. Apparently it runs in his family. Very shocked to read that canada has a high rate for IBD.

Im sure you;ll beat this and get back to kickin ass on live in no time!!!!
