It's like watching every Leaf's game (or any game for that matter) all season. Yes, technically, you are watching the "same" thing over and over, but they are all unique. You never know whats going to happen.

Great analogy! I usually say "shut-up" or "I am going to see them every chance I get for the rest of my life...get used to it!" Tongue

It's like watching every Leaf's game ... all season.

And at this point, they look at you and say, "Uh, right. You are crazy."
I get it all the time as well, I work with a lot of boring people that work all day and go home and watch tv all night,

The best part is I've got my manager watching the Hip's schedule now, every day the hip played for the Ontario dates of the tour he would come to my lab at 7:30am and ask "so what time did you get home this
morning".

At least now he knows what days are bad days to give me extra work Smile
People at work bug me all the time (geez, Dan, get a life...you're always seeing the Hip).
The way I see it..who cares? I'm having fun, I love it, and the music is awesome. They're just missing out.
I totally agree, I just was telling a guy at work that I booked Vegas in March with the TTH and my Brother, he said "what do you have a new shirt to see them in?", funny thing cause I do. It is a different group of ppl every night and it is unique, different songs and different versions/ rearrangements of songs.
I always said I would go to them every day of the week and October I almost did for the club shows.
[quote="cochiseOh ya, well if it wasn't for your defense, your offense, your incredible goaltending, your penalty killing, and your powerplay, Toronto would kick Buffalo's ass any day...........

Damn, is that the best rebuttal I can come up with??[/quote]

How about: Hey Buffalo! Congratulations on finally not sucking!
The only person I consistently get razzed by for my 20+ Hip shows is my old man. But his musical tastes have devolved from Zeppelin and Zappa to - what can best be described as elevator music. So whenever he mocks me for going to another Hip show, I ask him how he's enjoying his Streisand box set.
The people at work give me a hard time about the Hip and all my favourite bands. Apparently, being a grown-up means that you stop liking music and start thinking about mini-vans alot.

My ex's dad used to yell at him for going to so many shows. So now he lies about it! HAHA! Pretty bad when you have to hide the Hip, eh?!

Well its not fair to compare Hip concerts to Leafs games because the Hip dont suck on most nights.

AHAHAHAHAHAHA! I've never ever ever, laugh out loud so hard at something i've read on here! PRICLESSS! :thumb:

I had one buddy that used to ask me why I would go to two or three shows on consecutive nights or within a short period of time? Basically like Alex, I would just say "would you go to a Leafs game three times in a row, it's always gonna be different! I dont see the big deal? I think when touring ends for the Hip, they should get a weekly gig at the Phoenix! :thumb:
cochise Wrote:LOL, I was just asked last night and this morning "how many times do you have to go see them"??

Yeah, I know exactly you mean. It really bugs me when people say things like "But it's just the same thing every night". It clearly isn't though! :rambo: Personally, I can't see the pleasure of going to see sporting events every week. Granted you don't know who's going to win, but you know that a load of guys are going to run round a field/rink/court/whatever chasing something. Likewise, at a gig you know a group of guys are going to come out and play some songs, but you don't necessarily know which songs!

Also, a lot of bands will tour and then have a break for (possibly) a year or so, so you have to get the gigs when you have the chance.

AGREED! I have seen them there 3 times - for 2 October shows and then the Holiday Jam and I loved IT! Smile
I get the asked that same question all the time as well, and then they tell me I'm a stalker!!!

the other thing I absolutely hate is when I hear people say, "I only like there OLD Stuff", or as I'm leaving a concert, I overhear "It was good , but I wish that played more old stuff".....friggin drives me nuts!!
