Which song for you is the most overrated song in the Hip collection? One that the fans bark on about at a bonafide classic gets played live to much for your liking?
For me it's 'Fifty-Mission Cap' I've just never got the love for this tune, It's not terrible by any means, but just doesn't do anything for me and never has.
Now underrated - A song you love that barely gets a mention.
For me it's 'Apartment Song' it's hidden away at the weaker second side of TITHH, yet for me it's probably the second best song on the album, good lyrics, cool chorus etc.
Your turn (i'd prefer it if you stick to album tracks, it's easy to say 'Ultra Mundane' etc etc are underrated because they didn't make the album, so studio album tracks only!)

Yawning Or Snarling...this song never ever gets its props.
I'm to new to the band to fully grasp the hardcore fans reactions to songs and i've never seen them live so i've no idea which songs are 'overplayed' however i'll give it ago.
Overrated : Vaccination Scar.
One if not 'the' weakest tracks on IBE, I'm baffled at it's inclusion on 'Yer Favs'. Even more so when IBE has 2 entrys only, surely 'Are We Family', 'You're Everywhere' or 'Nashville' would have been better representatives.
Underrated : Stay.
I've not heard much on these forums about this little gem and it's not on 'Yer Favs' either. This absolutly beautiful track is my favourate track on M@W and a top 10 Hip song for me. 'You see a light and then another....'
Overrated (for me): Courage. Maybe I just hear it too much.
Underrated (for me [and there is lots of underrated songs, if you ask me]): Sharks
If you asked me this question on another day, I would probably give you different answers.
I think that 50 Mission Cap is overrated. It's a great tune, but not being a Maple Leafs fan means I don't feel it on that really emotional level that most others do.

I agree with "50" being overrated. I can't quite get into this song either.

Over: For some reason, I only like listening to Springtime In Vienna live.
Under: Emporer Penguin, The Completist and Cordelia
Overrated: Courage, Ahead by a Century, album versions of Twist My Arm and 100th Meridian.
Underrated: Are We Family, Let's Stay Engaged, Inch an Hour

Courage: yawn -- is this song going anywhere?
Vaccination Scar: worst song on IBE is somehow released as lead single, although still unfinished.
Highway Girl: plodding EP version somehow makes it onto Hipeponymous. Listeners take a nap.
Small Town Bringdown: while I'm bashing the EP, how was this ever mistaken for a good song?
IAGLIYDW: sounds like they sat down and said, "let's write an arena rock anthem."
Silver Jet: why was this a single? Let's not confuse stomp with plod.
Underrated:
Yawning or Snarling: moody, dreamy, a high point on DFN that somehow goes ignored.
We'll Go Too: this song seems to be widely disliked, but it's far better than the worse on Fully Completely (cf. Courage, above)
Ultra Mundane: proves that cutting your best work from the album, and then releasing junk, isn't a habit exclusive to Bob Dylan
Problem Bears: ibid, or something like that
The Darkest One: third single off IVL, should have been the first. Somehow fades from radio airplay with barely a whimper.
Sharks: one of the high points on M@W, and one of the bst lyrics
