Another fantastic sounding vinyl worth getting is Rare Bird Alert by Steve Martin and the Steep Canyon Rangers. Beautiful bluegrass.
Here's a little taste. <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-jc2pD2adh8">https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-jc2pD2adh8</a><!-- m -->

I've got 100 or so vinyl. While I've paid a pretty penny for a few albums I generally just buy albums to spin them.
Some of the records I'd consider to be the jewels of my collection in terms of value are
Blind Melon - soup
Pearl Jam - Avacado
A german pressing of road apples
Tool - Aenema
I also have a feeling that now for plan a will be a hard record to get your hands on

I'm a 'collector', and by collector... I mean I buy records I enjoy. I have about 400. I have inherited two collections of preloved records, and have been buying 'new' and 'old' vinyl since just before the 'resurgance' (My record player was my graduation present in high school, 2006). If you have a collection, I highly recommend taking the time to create your collection in discogs.com

Even if it cost 100s... I would still play it.

Not vinyl related, but I backed the kickstarter for Neil Young's Pono player when it came out a few years back. I got the limited edition Neil Young one for myself and the NY and Crazy Horse for my girlfriend. They are in an aluminum case with their signatures engraved in the side. They are pretty bulky due to the shape, but the quality is amazing.
There are now other HD music players, but ipods, other mp3 players and cell phones don't support anything over 16bit/44kHz (CD quality). The hardware just isn't capable of playing anything over that and the headphones you use probably aren't able to either. haha The Pono player is capable of playing 24bit/192kHz, which is the highest possible quality of a track, usually what studios will record in. You can get the tracks in FLAC or WAV format and they are uncompressed and the sound is unreal on a good stereo or with a nice pair of headphones. I bought a pair of in-ear Sennheiser headphones, similar to what bands use on stage. They were about $500, but very worth it... Those hooked up to the pono player with some 24bit tracks is just as good as listening to vinyl. It's a great "mobile" option for on the road or in the car.

And self titled.
So none of the others have been released on vinyl?
Except for Dougie Stardust :wink:
