The current forum software I am using for the site is called phpbb. The development of phpbb has slowed tremendously over the last year. Version 3 of phpbb has been due for years. I really do not want to spend any more time supporting this dieing software. I think we should move to vbulletin (http://www.vbulletin.com). Most of the top forums run this software and they have great support. The only problem is cost. A single license is $160.
Would anyone be willing to donate some money toward this venture?

Correct.
Quote:vBulletin (Owned License)
The owned vBulletin Forum license allows you to run the software on your site indefinitely. Along with this license, you will receive one year of free updates. Beyond the first year, you will have to pay a nominal fee, currently $30, to obtain updates for an additional year.

I'll chip in some cash - Not sure how much, but I'll definitely help out. It's well worth it. I run a forum that uses vBulletin and it's really great. :thumb:

No need — I have an unused owned licence. Happy to hand it over.
The free updates have lapsed — so you will have to splurge on those!
PM me Lance — I can send you the licence this weekend and try to figure out what's required to hand it over.
Cool?

Ya, sorry about that guys — I've forwarded lance they key for the software, etc.
Just moved into a new house and was without internet for a week or so — withdrawal! Anyway, I am around and can help out anytime.
Anyway, to keep the forum updated to the latest version costs about 30 bucks a year — and as my licence is just over a year old (althjough never used), it has 'expired'.
It's still usable, just cant keep up wth the latest and greatest.
Vbulletin is going to be a big treat for all of us. It's great software.
