I feel like making some predictions:

TATH: Will go to - ABAC; should go to - ABAC

Phantom Power: Will go to - Escape is at Hand; should go to - Emperor Penguin

Music at Work: Will go to - Lake Fever; should go to - Toronto #4 (not so sure about this one: might go to My Music at Work)

In Violet LIght: Will go to - Dire Wolf; should go to - Dire Wolf (but people will argue passionately for Dark Canuck)

IBE: Will go to - Goodnight Josephine; should go to - If New Orleans is Beat

World Container: Will go to - World Container; should go to - World Container

We are the Same: Will go to - Depression Suite; should go to - Depression Suite

Now for Plan A: Will go to - Goodnight Attawapiskat; should go to - We Want to Be it

MMP: Will go to - Machine; should go to - Machine

Agree, although I'd be quite happy if Giftshop won.

So far in these pools Hipbase voting has not strayed much from how the average Hip fan would have voted. If either Escape or Emperor were to win, this would be the first deviation from the norm, as the average fan would have Poets or Bobcaygeon winning here.

I'd be quite surprised if Lake Fever beat out either My M@W or Tiger. It's a lightweight compared to those two.

Quote:In Violet LIght: Will go to - Dire Wolf; should go to - Dire Wolf (but people will argue passionately for Dark Canuck)
I think Good Life will hold up well here; it sounds fantastic in the closing of the LTR documentary. Agree that Dire Wolf will probably be at least in the final two or three.

Quote:IBE: Will go to - Goodnight Josephine; should go to - If New Orleans is Beat
I don't see Josephine beating out Gus.

Quote:World Container: Will go to - World Container; should go to - World Container
This is the toughest album to call a winner on. On every other album, the lead single has been (or will be) a serious contender for best on the album. In View, the first single off WC, is divisive and will almost certainly not win this poll. It will likely even collect a few votes in the first round. However, I can't see World Container winning either. It too will collect a few first round votes as exhibit A for those who hated the Bob Rock production on the album. I have no idea what song will win but I think it will be either Ocean, Rink, Drop-Off or Family Band.

Agree. I just hope Morning Moon is in the final against it.

Quote:Now for Plan A: Will go to - Goodnight Attawapiskat; should go to - We Want to Be it
This should be a Goodnight Attawapiskat vs. At Transformation final. MMP might make a bit of a run as it is a favourite of some on here.

Quote:MMP: Will go to - Machine; should go to - Machine
Machine should easily go all the way on this one.

World Container is an abominably unlistenable, tasteless monstrosity of a song. What do you expect from a song that draws from Freddy Mercury. Then again, most of that album is absolutely atrocious.

As for the matter to hand, 'Gift Shop' is booted off my private island, and would have been expunged far before 700-Ft or Put It Off. But glad to see ABAC winning the candle.

Ban plz.

You're an insane person. The opening line from World Container is among the greatest GD lyrics of all time, and the iambic pentameter throughout the song makes me happier than drugs.

Jesus plays this album and envies Gord's vocal sustain. Equal parts frenetic (woo...WOOO!) and sentimental...this album is GD at his absolute best.

The kids don't get it. Just how hard it is.

I'd love to see Giftshop make it to the final, but it's going to be hard to bear witness to the slaughter. Except for FC, all the albums have had finalists finishing within 10 votes of each other. ABAC is looking like it will be the biggest runaway winner yet.

Nice to see that two other Hipbasers were dropped on their heads as infants as well like me. Smile

World Container seems to be a very polarizing album. That thread is gonna be really interesting.
