The Hip 64 :: Voting Results 2010

Would anyone with a Twitter account volunteer to Tweet about each matchup with a link to the respective matchup? That would generate a little more traffic on Hipbase!

Hmmm, twitter. I think the only person who could post to twitter about this to generate substantial traffic would be MAv, using @thehipdotcom. He MIGHT be able to declare a Hip hashtag and get people using it (my suggestion is #thehip, because #tragicallyhip is way too long for a good hashtag) and MAYBE watching it for stuff, but I don't know how many people regularly search twitter for mentions of the Hip. I mean, I could certainly post links about this to my twitter, but I think one Hip fan follows me. Although, wait, doesn't hipbase have a twitter? And hipfans? Who runs those? I rarely see much Hip-related on twitter, which makes me sad. I heart twitter.
Oh, actually, better: someone should post this stuff on the Hip's Facebook wall. That'd reach people who are already fans and who seem to be looking for Hip-related stuff to do.

Both songs will advance to the second round as part of a three-way matchup.
Fun way to start off the tournament!

The #TheHip tag is used fairly regularly. I've had mentions from random people (who I don't follow, or follow me) expressing love for The Hip! I agree that it makes sense that the Hipbase Twitter account should post them; then we could just retweet or whatever.

That's a really good idea!

How are the matchups decided?

Mr. Lahey Wrote:How are the matchups decided?They are decided via an online random number generator. I have the 64 songs listed in a spreadsheet - each with a unique ID tag (1-64). I'm then given a string of numbers 2 27 61 7 9 2... The matchups are then song 2 vs. 27, song 61 vs. 7 etc..
