I still have this performance (and the majority of WS'99) on VHS & was watching it the other day. After The Hip's performance i switched to MTV for a few minutes & Carson Daly was talking about The Hip as well, but he seemed more interested in Kid Rock's performance...the buddy that called into Carson seemed to really like The Hip's set Smile

If I remember correctly, Carson Daly also made a comment about the Hip in Rolling Stone's write-up on the festival, referring to Gord as "that crazy lead singer of The Tragically Hip" or something to that effect. At least I think it was Rolling Stone. The article also mentioned the giant sea of Canadian flags that greeted the band when they took the stage.
