Paul Langlois – Not Guilty 11-5-2013
#16

I think Gord might be a little jello of Paul now lol

I will not give up. My face is set,my gait is fast,my goal is heaven,my road is narrow,my way is rough,my companions are few,my guide is reliable,my mission is clear. I cannot be bought, compromised, detoured, lured away, turned back, diluted or delayed. I will not flinch in the face of sacrifice, hesitate in the presence of adversity, negotiate at the table of the enemy, ponder at the pool of popularity,or meander in the maze of mediocrity. I will not give up,shut up or slow down....Blessed Be!

Is it just me, or does that sound distinctly like a Rob Baker guitar solo on "Leading Me Down"? I know he's touring with Paul as a member of his band, but did he play on the album as well? I'm assuming he probably did.

And Rob Baker played guitar – obviously Robbie and I have been close friends for 30 years, inside and outside of The Hip. He was also very encouraging to me when I was recording my first solo cd. So much so, that when I decided I wanted to record another album, he was a natural choice for me – and thankfully he said yes! - See more at: http://www.chingmusic.com/news/paul-lan ... /#more-100

Anyone bored in Kingston tonight? (11/8)
The Heather Haynes Gallery is hosting a CD listening/video viewing party at 6:30 tonight.
And Paul will also be performing some tunes.

This album stood up REALLY well live. Loved to hear some stories and meaning behind certain songs, hoping for more in the future from Paul

Both of Pauls CDs come out really really really good live. If you have not gotten a copy of any of the shows from his Not Guilty tour go find one, this material is meant to be heard live as far as im concerned.

I hate to be negative, but doesn't anyone else find both of Paul's albums really boring compared to Hip albums? Where are are the good guitar riffs? Isn't this the guy that brought us Little Bones & NOIS? I mean I don't find the albums terrible, but they're not great either. Pretty bland. Does anyone else think this?

i think it sounds very similar to the hip sound and if you were privileged enough to see any of the shows on his tour you would have seen the rob/paul magic up close and personal,Rob had to learn the songs for the 1st album and not guilty and there was nothing bland about watching the 2 of them play together,i have both cds in regular rotation, beats most the crap being released by these young bands.

I did see him live with Rob at the Seahorse Tavern in Halifax. I even went back stage and talked with Paul, his bass player and Greg Ball afterwards (Rob ducked onto the tour bus). It was pretty awesome. It was a good show and a great experience, but I'm just saying the songs themselves are lacking on the albums from what I would expect from such a seasoned musician such as himself. Still, you're right that it's a lot better than a lot of stuff out there. I guess I just expected more from him. Again, sorry to be negative about it on these forums. cheers.
