is there something about it that makes it better than say the dire wolf? or emperor penquin?---I heard it live at my last show--and yes I admit it sounds great live! but musically it's about as exciting as ----throwing off glass---or ---leave ----or ----pigeon camera------lyrically i can sense and understand the winsome melancholy in the song (about an acquaintance who committed suicide right?) but i think it's meandering in it's narrative and oblique in it's ultimate message which--(-I'm GUESSING-) is that life's rich pageant is sometimes all too short.------was it released as a single on Canadian radio at some point? and therefore played more often than it should have been-thus garnering more popularity than other songs on the album, which are better but for whatever reason were never released as singles to radio??----(sorta like fully completely--or courage--or ahead by a century-----)--hey don't crucify me people------------------------------------but if you search your hearts and stop worshipping sacred cows-=--i think you might see what i'm sayin---"Poets" is the better song by a TKO at least.

Musically, I find Leave jaw-dropping.
Same for Escape Smile.

speaking of crucifixion and worshipping ... you just set up the Hipbase Holy Trinity there -- The Dire Wolf, Emperor Penguin, and Escape.

Poets may be one of the great saints, but with Escape we're talking "In the name of the Penguin, and of the Wolf, and of the Travelling Man ... Amen"

ct

please excuse the blashphemy.

Which is funny, because if I had the opportunity to listen to three hip songs right now - none of those would be part of my selection.

But my opinion is just another point of view...

(please excuse the blasphemy.)
