Great video! The entire Phantom Power tour was just phenomenal. I'd say they were hands down the best live act on the planet at that time, and the setlists were epic. I was lucky enough to see them 3 times on that tour: twice in Calgary and again in San Francisco at the High Sierra Festival. Out of the 30+ Hip shows I've seen over the years, that San Fran gig still stands out as a major highlight. It was my first cross-border show, and the most intimate setting I've ever seen them in. The main stage was set up in this little field right beside a small lake. It was beautiful. By the time the Hip went on, there couldn't have been more than 500 people there, tops. It was unreal.

Beautiful version of Fiddler's Green in London, England w/ Kelly Jones of the Stereophonics. Jones has routinely cited the Hip as a major influence over the years, so this must have been a cool moment for him.

this fella was kind enough to put up a playlist from kingston's richardson stadium (1993)

Man, I just got all teary-eyed during that opening montage with the fans. So many great memories of lining up at the local Ticketbastard outlet at 2:00 in the morning. Back in the days before the Internet, if you lined up early enough you never had to worry about getting shut out of tickets. Even if your seats weren't as good as you had hoped, it was still exciting as hell. The Hip were at the peak of their powers back then, and I was just happy to be in the building. I feel the same way about this tour. I just wanna be there.

I was at that gig. Im just off to the left of where that camera was. I always knew Kelly Jones cited The Hip as an influence, but was awesome (if a little envious of his opportunity) to see. Really cool version of it too. That gig was awesome. Touched Gord on the shoulder as he came out to the crowd. Made my year. ;-)

I was there, it was amazing to say the least. Thanks for posting that, the memories are flooding back this week, there's so many I could probably write a book.

Imagine a world before the "beginning was the word.”

"In the hockey games tonight, all your favourite teams lost." They were, for the record, St Louis, Detroit, LA and Vancouver. The internet is a wonderful thing.

I love this bootleg. Some of the older tape traders can correct me, but I'm pretty certain this video was never circulating. What a find.
