GD: 2011-08-27 - Christie Lake Conservation Area

Early night tonight.

This may rank up there as my favourite GD & TCOM show. And it may very well be because of Johnny Fay on drums. What a unique difference! Dave Clark makes it a little more mellow, but Johnny makes it rock! And I can't say I ever hear his drums as much during Hip shows as I did tonight. Holy kick drum.

Anyway, in absolutely no particular order, here is what I remember of the setlist:

Yellow Days
Drowning Machine
Moon over Glenora
East Wind
Vancouver Divorce
Trick Rider
Chancellor (solo)
Night is For Getting
Figment
Dance & Disappearance
Hard Canadian

Saw a bit of The Reason (I liked what I heard, so I will have to check them out). Daniel Lanois played guitar solos in the sound tent in between The Reason and Sarah Harmer, and then between Sarah and GD. That was really cool.

Looks like this will probably turn out to be an annual thing, which is cool. Pictures and video later.

Forgot to add that CBC Radio was taping the entire day, and they expect it to air sometime in October.

Thanks! The Video is awesome! I wish Gord had done more acoustic songs here! Fay on the Drums was weird but cool!
