2008 Relegation Round
#1

32 songs are vulnerable (songs knocked out in first round). 9 of these songs will be ineligable to compete in next year's tournament. The winner will also be retired from competition. This will provide spots for 10 new competitors into the competition to keep next year's tournament fresh.
Post your list of the 10 songs you think are the weakest from the list. Then search through the Hip's extensive catalogue to replace them in next year's tourney.
*Only select songs that have been officially released on a Tragically Hip CD. No Demos/Rarities will be considered. Also make sure that the songs you select were not involved in the 2008 tournament.
*Songs which were relegated last year (2007), are now eligable to re-enter into next year's tournament.

The importance of the relegation round was shown in this year's tournament. Thugs, which was left out of the 2007 competition, was written in by the sheer will of the fans who replied with their lists of relegation entries. Thugs provided an excellent showing in the 2008 tournament making it all the way to the Final Four! This proves the power and importance of participating in the relegation round. The more submissions the better!

One more note to make. Remember that the Tragically Hip are currently recording a new album, which will undoubtedly have fantastic songs which could be excellent competitors in the tournament. Keep this in mind when submitting your relegation sheets, as they may need to be revised/edited once the new album is out, before the 2009 tournament.

Or set it up so the finals are the day before the new album comes out!

Let's get as many relegation responses in as possible. Remember, this is your way to input the deeptracks you love the most!
The deadline to submit or edit your relegation sheet will be Monday, March 9th, 2009.

**Note: New Tracks: Morning Moon & Love Is A First are eligible for relegation entry, as they will be appearing on the next CD, and are well know to Hipbasers.**
