The full album is now streaming on Exclaim. I'm just a few songs in, and it sounds great so far. Nice mix of the old-school Low sound with Ron's more recent solo material. I'm diggin' it.

Holy shit! This is definitely going on my Christmas list this year.

Quote:It's Shakespeare My Box, Lowest of the Low’s career retrospective box set!
With 72 songs on 7 pieces of vinyl, a 24 page full colour booklet of incriminating photos and testimonials, stickers, posters and handwritten lyrics you’ll know everything there is to know about the Low… except perhaps why they’re wearing blindfolds on the cover of Shakespeare My Butt.

In addition to the Boxset, fans will also have Exclusive Access to purchase tickets to a once-in-a-lifetime Private show in Toronto at the Dakota Tavern (249 Ossington Ave) on November 21st, 2018. Tickets can only be purchased in conjunction with the sale of a Boxset and a maximum of 2 tickets can be purchased per Boxset. There will be two set-times at the Dakota Tavern, an Early Show (approx. 7PM) and a Late Show (approx. 11PM). Pick these up quick as Tickets to the shows are limited!

Boxset includes:

28 pg Full-Colour Book
Handwritten Lyrics Sheets
Poster
Stickers
Shakespeare My Butt…
Hallucigenia
Sordid Fiction
Do The Right Now
Thrifty Thrifty Thrifty (New Album of Unreleased Songs, Singles, Live Tracks, Demos, Outtakes, Remixes & Rarities)

I hope that Hallucigenia and Sordid Fiction get their own single release

That would be great, as I already own the reissued Shakespeare vinyl. I think I'm mostly looking forward to the rarities album, which I'm hoping will get its own release as well, even if it's just CD or digital. The box set looks really cool, but unless someone buys it for me as a gift, I likely won't be getting it. Too expensive.

From the Low's facebook page today:

Quote:Last day of tracking for our upcoming album AGITPOP with producer David Bottrill. Thanks to all the fantastic, talented people who worked and played on the record. It will be released this spring by Warner Music Canada.

Geez, I guess I'm just talking to myself in this thread, lol. Oh well.

Here's Ron Hawkins talking to Strombo from a couple nights ago, discussing the new Low album (coming out May 29th.)

Nope I'm here dire, and I'm a huge Ron/Low fan. Seen him play many times, including most of his bands (Do Good Assassins, Low, Rusty Nails, solo, etc). Super pumpt for AGITPOP.

Me too. Judging by what I've heard so far, this album is shaping up to be one of the best things they've ever done.

I'm following along -- your're not alone! Lead track from the new album sounds great. Overall, they've been consistently good in their recorded output, either as Low or Ron on his own.

Great interview with Ron from Spill Magazine:

Thanks for posting, would not have seen it otherwise. Love this quote, "You have to think of yourself as a fan and not an artist, because that’s who’s paying to see you. I can see me anytime."

Author was clearly a fan. Love that he slipped in the "The choice was never ours" line.
