Wheather it be at a sporting event, festival, retail store, restaurant, or bar, The Tragically Hip can often be heard in public places. Next time you hear the Hip in public, post a reply with:
The public place that you heard The Tragically Hip
The Tragically Hip song that was being played
The date that you heard the Hip in public
*Note Hearing the Hip on the radio does not count
When i read the topic I thought what? the hip are being brought before a tribunal? flashes of all those mob guys and those senate hearings flashed in my head
sorry, one of those dayz
At Sudbury Wolves hockey games, they usually throw on a Hip album (Road Apples) in the front lobby where you buy tickets.
No Hip plays here in public, but the last time was at an HMV in Vancouver when I was up there last Christmas. They were playing "No Threat" and I got all excited because I'm the only one who listens to The Hip here. Well, apart from my dad.
last month at a friend's party. a local band got up on stage a did a usual set of covers with a pretty good version of NOIS.

i had a ton of relatives 'home' for a wedding last week, a lot of us went out for drinks, there was a great band playin various covers (sublime, johnny cash) forget their name but only two members!! (guitar/vox & a drummer) but as soon as the intro started, whoa i just realized that would've been on guitar instead of bass!! but anyway as soon as it started me & my cousins started screamin hip hip hip hip!! good times
after reading the last psot it was last saturday eveining, august 5th, at a suprise 50th birthday party for a fellow co worker. there was a 3 three piece band (guitar, bass, drum) playing mostly 70 & 80-'s tunes when they said we will play a song by the tragically hip. they played blow. not unusual as i live about 1 hour south of montreal and often hear hip covers when we watch live music. some better than others.

Little Bones
July 23/06
There was the usual Alan Jackson country stuff being played over the loudspeaker, which was not very entertaining for me. Once the opening riff for Little Bones came on, I was quite satisfied!

From a Jukebox in a bar in Island Lake, IL
Meridian
This past winter!
hock: You will probably never hear the Hip play in public around here - its still hard to find a fellow hip fan around Chicago. The second I realized it was on, I left the group I was with, ran to the jukebox to see if I could find the person who had played it, but no one was there. I couldn't believe the jukebox had that album!
