Looks amazing. This must have been what Jim Cuddy was hinting at
Teddy Fury!
I was fortunate to go to a taping of Donovan Woods covering 'Lake Fever' at Strombo's house for this back in late September. There were a few other bands there getting ready to record covers as well but I was only permitted to stay for Donovan's set. He covered the song incredibly well - said it was his favourite Hip song of all time.
Wow! Can't wait to hear this. I've always wondered what a Hip song would sound like filtered through the Cowboy Junkies. That band's covers are always so bluesy and badass.
Eager to hear the interviews and to see which artists put their own spin on songs compared to ones that do "by the book" covers.

Got me thinking - what Hip song do I most want to hear Rush cover?

Surprised to see Justin Rutledge not on this list after he released a complete album of Hip covers. Don't personally care if he (or anyone) is or isn't on it, but would have expected his name to be there.

I just had a vision of of Geddy belting out 'NOT TO GET ORDER FROM CHAOS'.

John K. Samson is another name I expected would be there for something like this. Same with the Headstones. I'm sure a lot of these guys were asked, but are probably just unavailable.

Geddy's interview he talked about how much he likes Ahead By A Century, so I am going out on a limb and guessing that'll be it. I think Geddy's voice could lend well to that song.

If not, man I bet they could pull of a killer version of Fire In The Hole.

Not Hip related, or even related to this thread, but I've been wondering this for a while. Is it actually Strombo's house, and if so, do you have to sign a waiver stating that you won't disclose his address? or stalk him? Not that I would of course. And my most burning question, how do his neighbours feel about the noise?

i always wondered the same thing... :wink:
Those who were at Grace O'Malley's before the Secret Path show would have caught Kasador covering So Hard Done By, with a polite request not to put any footage online as to not piss off the CBC. They did the tune justice.

I was there and noticed that, but I'd seen footage prior to the concert. I'm pretty sure it's on Facebook and was released by the Strombo page.

Edit: Oh, it was a live video. <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="https://www.facebook.com/strombo/videos/10157474816840243/">https://www.facebook.com/strombo/videos ... 816840243/</a><!-- m -->

There was no waiver to be signed - it didn't seem like it was a big secret that it was his house. Also, it didn't seem very 'homey' so I'd be surprised if he spends a lot of time living there, granted I did not see much of the house at all. He recently recorded an Arkells house concert where you can get a better look inside.
Hopefully this is streamed for all us poor souls in the USA!
