Tarion Warranty........dicks.

When a toddler throws a temper tantrum, we aren't surprised -- it is, after all, the terrible twos. The fact that we aren't surprised when two-year-olds behave like two-year-olds isn't "age discrimination."

Similarly, when someone in his early 20s makes an obnoxious remark from a position of ignorance, we aren't surprised. Ignorance and arrogance go hand in hand at that age, and it's not "age discrimination" to observe that its from this that the remark springs.

Since you love to play with words, you might want to look up "discrimination" in the dictionary and begin using it correctly.

I don't expect that age and experience will lead to the same perspectives. I recognize that adults have different perspectives. However, I can also differentiate mature perspectives from the rubbish that spews from the undergraduate mind.

Assuming we know the experiences of the toddler because he is 2, and assuming that one can't be a 2 year old until they have specific experiences, is age discrimination.

Similarly, when someone knows they are older than someone else, it gives them the opportunity to discriminate based on age. Assuming signing a mortgage is necessary for becoming an adult (presumably because you yourself had done so) is obviously incorrect. As are any other similar 'milestones'. You know my general age, earlier you took a guess at which experiences you thought I wouldn't have and at which experiences apparently defined not being a kid, and performed a handy bit of age discrimination.

Also, ignorance and arrogance go hand in hand at any age, which is clear from how you present yourself. The only thing that requires you to differentiate a 'mature' perspective from an 'immature' perspective (not that such perspectives exist, I am simply playing along) is whether or not it aligns with your own perspective. If you do indeed think that mature perspectives exist that are different than your own, then consider that I have not encountered as much bullshit as I have heard from you at any other time in my life (though a few other people have been close).

Kyle, it's not that you're immature because you haven't hit some imaginary milestone. No; my remarks about your maturity, lack thereof, are based on your behaviour, not my assumptions.

It's your attitude and behaviour towards the problems that clutchcdn and Chris Chris experienced that marks your immaturity.

I don't think anyone reading your replies will miss the point.

As long as you acknowledge that your perception of my behaviour is your own. You probably know full well that I consider you to be immature and ignorant. Not to say that your perspectives are immature, but obviously my observations about your behaviour are leading me to the same kinds of conclusions.

Wow, what a turn of events in this post??

I myself didn't realize that me owning a house means that I spit on others less fortunate?? I guess I am a "first world arrogant ass"??

No beef, I'm commiserating. My builder, Westmount Industries, forgot to install the tanning bed in my new condo.

Add me to the growing list of people on this board who think your perspectives are callow and laughably idealistic.

Yeah, well I had misspelled 'puerile', so when I went to edit, I just removed it, because it means essentially the same thing as 'callow'.

Now he has something to assault me with.

Back to the org. issue with Tarion, you have to go through the full appeal process which is on the Tarion website. After that you can go and sue the builder. Best bet is small claims. 10,000 max claim. You dont need a lawyer and can do it yourself. If you lose you may owe a couple hundred in costs. google "ontario attorney general small claims court". They have tons of great info on it.

Remember that the builder will use the Tarion ruling as a defence in court.

If your builder is not around anymore, I am guessing that Tarion takes their place?
